We are pleased to show off the concept design for the AIAS Student Store that we have been working on for some time now. The concept design has received approval from our director here at the UNLV School of Architecture, and we have to “go” to move forward on it. This is a very exciting time for the AIAS UNLV chapter! Congratulations to Kyle Fischer for heading this project and to everyone involved in the design. We would also like to thank the ASID here at UNLV for their assistance and support during the design process.
Congratulations to the University of Nevada-Las Vegas Solar Decathaon team for being among the twenty university teams chosen to participate in the U.S. Department of Energy’s 2013 Solar Decathalon.
FORUM is the annual meeting of the AIAS and the premier global gathering of architecture and design students, providing students with opportunities to learn about important issues facing architectural education and the profession, to meet like-minded students, educators, and professions, and to interact with some of today’s leading architects through keynote addresses, tours, workshops and seminars. http://forum.aias.org/
This year, AIAS FORUM 2011 was held in the sunny city of Phoenix, Arizona with the scope of the conference being SOLUTIONS, which promoted creative thinking to address the problems our generation faces as a result of the realities rendered from of our past decisions.
Students spent six days and five nights of their winter break running on architectural adrenaline rush shared with 700+ other college students from across the country. They attended fourteen incredible tours, including the breathtaking Taliesin West, participated in several workshops and design charrettes, listened to four awesome keynote speakers, and attended one hell of a New Year’s Eve Beaux Arts Ball 1920s style…all of which can only equate to being one of the best experiences an architecture student can ever have.
